I love music. I love to sing, so I particularly love music I can wail along to. I’ve previously explained this in an open letter to my son about singing in the car. You can read it here.

While I’m writing, I tend not to put music on that much. Or if I do, I will match it to the era I am writing in (I found THE BEST collection of 1700’s country dances on YouTube).

But when I’m editing, I have my Currentish playlist.

Currentish means that I keep adding the current songs I’ve recently purchased. So the list is really Mostly Not Current But Two Or Three Current Songs As Well. That seemed a bit too long a title to put on a list, so Currentish it was 🙂

It’s a 6-hour list that I’ll put on to cover me from 10am through til about 4pm. Sometimes I play it every day for a week straight. Sometimes I don’t play it for months. But I always come back to it, because it has my best singing songs.

There are more than 90 songs on the list, so I’m not going to subject you to the whole thing, but I will give you a Top 20 Singing Songs from the list – in alphabetical order no less (with clickable links to YouTube):

Acapella – Karmin

All About That Bass – Meghan Trainor

Budapest – George Ezra

Dear Mr. President – P!NK & Indigo Girls

Elastic Heart – Sia

Enter Sandman – Metallica

Ex’s and Oh’s – Elle King

Fight Song – Rachel Platten

Hallelujah – Jeff Buckley

Hard to Handle – The Black Crowes

I Can See Clearly Now – Hothouse Flowers

Jumpin’ Jumpin’ – Destiny’s Child

The Last Day on Earth – Kate Miller Heidke

Lemon Tree – Fool’s Garden

Midnight Special – Creedence Clearwater Revival

One Last Breath – Creed

Playing to Win – Little River Band

Pompeii – Bastille

Supremacy – Muse

Welcome to the Black Parade – My Chemical Romance

As you can see, very eclectic, very different, and very representative of my very unusual musical tastes!!

Anything there you like? Hate? Anything you think I should add??

Til next time Happy Reading!

Bree
